MICHIGAN TURFGRASS ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM - to advance the environmental stewardhip of Michigan's golf industry by increasing the awareness and understanding of Michigan's environmental resources, the potential impacts of golf turf management, and elevate the level of pollution protection.

Nov 15, 2007: Bio-Products Grant Money Available!

Based on the success of bio-product use at state and federal parks, the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth has awarded the Michigan Turfgrass Foundation (MTF) a grant to help promote and accelerate the adoption of bio-based products in the turf industry. MTF has $42,000 of funding available to provide incentive funding to golf courses for use toward purchase of bio-based products and infrastructure. Grants to individual courses can be between $1,000 and $2,500.

Throughout the year the Michigan Turfgrass Environmental Stewardship Program (MTESP) offers many educational activities to aide golf courses in achieving their goal in becoming certified as environmentally sound.

In addition to joining our program there are opportunities for your organization to benefit from the educational resources made available through our program. The activity schedule listed on this page lists the dates of supplemental sessions provided by the MTESP.
